In 2020, with support from the Swallow Charitable Foundation, the Colorado Soccer Foundation (CSF) kicked off a game plan to make soccer more accessible to all kids who want to play. In June of 2021, we opened Soccer City Aurora (SCA), a world-class facility in the heart of Aurora that includes a clubhouse, classroom, and lighted turf fields. Below is CSF’s first Annual Scorecard 2021 - 2022 with highlights of our successful programming and the positive community response to our efforts to expand the field of opportunity for Colorado children.

“I have a kiddo who never thought he would be able to play league soccer because of the cost. He not only got to play, but he “got real jerseys” too. His smile made my season.”

“Kids had somewhere to be after school, doing something they love, and learning new skills.
All of the kids became friends because they were part of the same team.”

Soccer After School

Soccer After School (SAS) partners with 25 elementary schools to provide over 1,000 third through sixth graders access to organized soccer. Partner schools have an average of 92% of student families who qualify for free reduced lunch rates.  Seventy-five percent of the families indicated their child had never played an organized sport before joining SAS. Kids are coached by teachers from their schools, practice at their schools, and play games at Soccer City. We partner with the Positive Coaching Alliance to train teacher-coaches to embrace the “power of positive” and to teach beginner soccer skills. We underwrite ~82% of the cost of the program each year through support from foundations, corporate partners, and individual donors.

These students deserve to play.”

Referee Training

We regularly train teenage youth to become referees, giving them the opportunity to progress into more competitive levels of soccer after earning their stripes at Soccer After School Game Days.

Jovencitos Training

We offer skills training for younger Soccer City members (ages 4-12) with our coaches so kids can build skills and understand how to play pick up soccer. All abilities welcome!

In order to keep fees, memberships, programs, and fields accessible and available to all kids, we need your help! Please consider making a donation to the Colorado Soccer Foundation or contact jodi@coloradosoccerfoundation.org to see how you can become an MVP for youth sports!
